Requested Prayers from the 4th Day Community

From Jeanette Schranz on March 26:
I went to the funeral home this evening for Dennis Laquet and saw Dee and Larry Wilhelm there, former parishioners of St. Peter's Cathedral and now of Holy Childhood in Mascoutah. Dee was upset because her daughter in law, Anna Van Horn Wilhelm has colon cancer. She is the mother of three with the youngest being 5. I told Dee we would put her on the cursillo prayer list.

Donna Kocher has asked me to send a thank you for the prayers/palanca. Her talk to the Mary and Martha Society at Sts. Peter & Paul in Waterloo Tuesday went well. She felt the guidance of the Holy Spirit as she explained our Cursillo message.

From Joyce Stehl March 23:
I’m sending out this request on behalf of one of our Oblates, Fr. Terry Donovan, OMI. He has been hospitalized at St. E’s in Belleville and is in Intensive Care. He is loosing blood and they cannot locate the source of the problem. Please keep Fr. Terry in your prayers and that the Holy Spirit brings forth a positive answer for him.

From Marie Rutter March 16:
This is John & Abbie Scherrer's grandson. Todd will need very special prayers Friday, March 16. The surgery Monday was not successful, so he will have more surgery to his right lung and now his left lung Friday. This surgery will take close to 3 hours and his chest will be blocked for pain for the next 4 days. When he comes out of surgery, he will have two tubes coming from his right chest wall and two tubes coming from his left chest wall. He will need many, many prayers.

Update on Masha on March 15:
I spoke with Masha's mom yesterday. They came home to Illinois from Utah on Saturday. Masha is already taller! She is not using pain medications other than Motrin. Her recovery from surgery has been nothing short of miraculous and I attribute much of that to the Cursillista's prayers.
Thank you again for your diligent prayers for this little gal who has a special place in my heart and Fr. Gary's heart.

Please pray for my cousin, Sandi, who is still in the Extended Care recovering from her 3 month stay at a St. Louis hospital. She had an iliostomy and with the Crohn's disease, had many complications. Please pray that she gets strong enough to be able to go home again and live independently.

I have a prayer request. My brother Joe is going to have surgery on a nodule on his lung. He will need to have a rib removed. Please pray that God keeps Joe in His loving hands. Joe is just a super human being.

Cusillista Barb (Mohr) Haefner, died suddenly yesterday at her home. Barb is the sister of Cursillsta Joe (Ann) Haubrich. Barb is survived by her spouse, Mickey, and 2 adult children, Beth Voelker and Kevin Mohr. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 - 8 pm at Heil Schuessler funeral home in New Athens. The funeral will be 10:00 am at St. Agatha's Church in New Athens. Arrangements are delayed due to the fact that Barb's son Kevin is recovering from extensive surgery at Barnes hospital. The family is hopeful that he will be discharged to attend his mother's funeral. Please pray that this will be possible for Kevin and keep Barb's family in your prayers at this sad time. I would like to request prayers for Norman Neff, father of one of our employees, Linda Pass. He was just diagnosed with rectal cancer and has found that it can be cured. They are anxiously waiting to see which treatments he will be receiving. Norman is very optimistic and ready to get things in motion.

Roni I received a call from Sandy Strickler CURSILLISTA from Grand Chain asking for prayers for her father Harold Hargan. Harold had a heart attack Sunday and has not had a good day today.

I had a one vehicle wreck today. The van I was driving went off the road and went down and incline into a ditch. The van went on the right side but did not roll over. Total loss ! My guarding angle was with me. I was released from the hospital at 2pm. I am asking for prayers of THANKS BE TO GOD! We always ask for God to help in time of need, and should always give thank you prayers also.

Please ask our brothers and sisters to pray for Cassie Diehl who is 26 yrs. old and the niece of the director of liturgy at our church. Her aunt is Kim Straub and she raised her as her own. On Sat.. they diagnosed Cassie with stomach cancer. This is not the primary source of her cancer and may mean it is more advanced. Please pray for God's will and their strength in this trial.

I have a prayer request.. Shane Reinneck, husband of St. Joe's organist Jean Reinneck, has been diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma. His outlook is pretty good because they caught it early, but he is in chemotherapy right now. They have two small sons, Justin and Nolan. If you could add his name to the prayer list, I would appreciate it.
