A Note from Fr. Gary
I want to take this opportunity to send two things along to my sisters and brothers in the Cursillo movement in the Diocese of Belleville.
The first is a very heart-felt thank you for your support and prayers for those of us in ordained ministry, but I especially want to thank the members of team on Belleville Women’s #29. For all of the years that I have worked with Cursillo, this is the first time that the spiritual directors received a thank you from the rest of the team. The stole is a beautiful reminder of the dedication of so many of you to the work of Cursillo and I can not wait to be able to wear it once we get into the Easter season. Thank you ever so much.
The second is I want to invite you all to the Easter Vigil. If you have never been to the Vigil I would encourage you to find one where they will be bringing adults into the Church at that time. It is especially good if they are being baptized. Yes, the evening will be long, but I believe that if you take the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful event you will find that it is a truly moving event. If you happen to be one who joined the Church in the last several years in this fashion, have you gone back since you entered the Church? If not, how about going back to recall and renew that wonderful event in your life and take some of your friends and family with you.
As we wind down this happy, holy Season of Lent, let us remember that we are being called to renew our Baptismal commitment as the Church welcomes new members, so that together we can journey in faith in the Paschal Mystery; the Passion, Death and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus, the Christ.
Have a great Holy Week and make it a joyous one by participating in ALL of the high Holy Days of our Faith.
De Colores,
Fr. Gary
